Sun Play Here and There

April sun in Indiana is thin
and plays hide and seek with flat gray skies,
but mostly chooses hide.

April sun in South Carolina is loud
and calls for you to come play in warm breezes,
but also sits in calm corners.

  1. Nice way to play with weather & geography. It is that mercurial springtime. I like the 'plays hide and seek'.

  3. Good way to describe the sun--very thin and loud!! Thanks for warming me up a bit.

  4. I love the parallel stanzas. These are very haiku-like (maybe they are intentionally haikus, but they definitely send the haiku-vibe) and rich with imagery. Lovely personification.
